My task was to develop a new website for the company within a tight timeframe of just two months. While the project involved leveraging much of the old site’s content, a significant challenge arose due to the extensive amount of post content that couldn’t be migrated without potentially breaking many plugin solutions. To overcome this hurdle, I devised a strategic solution that involved duplicating the old site and its database to initiate development on the copied version.

To ensure a smooth transition and minimize disruptions, I decided to replicate the existing website on the server. By creating a duplicate version of the old site and its database, I could work on the copy without interfering with the live website. This approach provided the flexibility to make substantial changes and improvements while maintaining the functionality of the original site during the development phase.

Once I had the replicated site in place, I proceeded to embark on the development process. For this project, I chose to utilize Elementor, a powerful page-building plugin for WordPress. Elementor offered a range of features and functionality that perfectly aligned with the goals and requirements of Inside Columbia Magazine’s website.

One of the primary advantages of using Elementor was its intuitive and user-friendly interface. With its drag-and-drop capabilities, I was able to design and structure the website with ease. This allowed me to create visually appealing layouts, customize various elements, and incorporate dynamic content seamlessly. Elementor’s vast library of pre-designed templates and blocks also expedited the development process, enabling me to efficiently construct engaging pages that aligned with the magazine’s branding.

During the development phase, I ensured that the website’s design was modern, responsive, and optimized for an optimal user experience across different devices and screen sizes. I paid meticulous attention to details such as typography, color schemes, and visual hierarchy to create a visually appealing and cohesive website.

Additionally, I integrated various essential functionalities into the website, such as a user-friendly navigation menu, interactive sliders, social media integration, and an intuitive search feature. These enhancements aimed to enhance user engagement and streamline content discovery for Inside Columbia Magazine’s readers.

Throughout the project, I collaborated closely with the stakeholders at Inside Columbia Magazine to ensure that their vision was translated effectively into the website’s design and functionality. Regular feedback sessions and iterative revisions helped fine-tune the website to meet their specific requirements.

In conclusion, developing the website for Inside Columbia Magazine was an exciting and challenging endeavor. By duplicating the old site and working on a copied version, I could overcome the obstacles posed by the extensive post content. Leveraging Elementor, I crafted a visually appealing and user-friendly website that effectively showcased the magazine’s content while incorporating modern design trends and essential functionalities. The project’s success was a result of a meticulous development process, collaborative communication, and a dedication to delivering a high-quality website within the specified timeframe.
